About Donald Scott Land Agent


Donald Scott, a native of the Isle of Barra, the Western Isles, Scotland was educated at Clydebank, Dunbartonshire. Son of a shepherd, he inherited a love for agriculture and commenced his career in 1970 at Wallet’s Marts, Castle Douglas, as a junior auctioneer. There he gained avast amount of experience in the industry and upon his departure in 1987 held the position of one of the senior auctioneers. To further his career a move south to Shropshire and then to Cumbria where he has become well known within the land agency, estate agency and auction industry.

In November, 2004 Donald found the time was right to fulfil a lifetime ambition and formed the company Donald Scott to serve the community with the valuable practical knowledge that he had obtained over the years purely based on a hands on approach.

His academic achievements were gained through correspondence courses with the College of Estate Management, Reading.

A Fellow Member of the Institute of Auctioneers and Appraisers in Scotland and also a Fellow Member of the National Association of Estate Agents.
